i’m looking at apt listing for new york just to get a feel for what i could get and some of it is pretty funny to me. some of them are female only which i can understand but i also think is illegal. the funniest is that 90% of them are looking for laid back, clean, quiet roommates. isnt this a little like saying you want to date someone who is human, breathes oxygen, and doesn’t scream all the time? people always say they’re laid back. nobody’s putting up ads like this:

Early 30s professional looking for loud, bitchy, uptight cocksucker who smokes pot every day (in the kitchen whenever possible) and plans to not have a job for as long as possible. MALES ONLY. Atheist preferred.

it’s interesting how our culture can be biased and exclusionary up to an acceptable limit. “NO BLACKS” doesn’t fly anymore but “NO FATTIES” probably would. “NO MALES” certainly does.

anyway, i’m moving to new york in case yo umissed that somehow.
